Accessing the GC & SLU: Student Disability Services

Student Disability Services are available for all students with a documented disability, regardless of residency status. A disability is any physical or mental impairment—visible or invisible, permanent or temporary—that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

The SDS website contains information about the functions of student disability services, initiating services, and submitting documentation. The website also contains resources for the entire GC community, including faculty resources, creating accessible course content, and planning accessible events and announcements.

To initiate services, contact Clare Wilson,
Manager of Student Disability Services,
by email at [email protected],
or by phone or in person by appointment.

Discussions and information regarding a student’s disability will be kept confidential unless a student requests otherwise. If you have received services or accommodations in the past, contact SDS to discuss the continuation of services here at the GC. If you suspect you should receive services, but have not had them in the past, contact SDS to discuss your circumstances.

Services have the best chance of benefitting you if there is advanced planning. Contact Student Disability Services early if there is a chance you will need services. It is easier to decide you no longer need a service than to organize accommodations at the last moment. We can start coordinating accommodations even if you have not yet registered for classes or do not yet have documentation in hand.
